STONE RIDGE COTTAGE
Originally built as a hunting cabin by WWII General Sherman V. Hasbrouck, this 1944 Cape Cod stone house on 125 acres in Stone Ridge, New York, has found new life as a country retreat for a Manhattan-based artist couple. The renovation focused on the kitchen, scullery, and powder bath, including the conversion of an outdated garage bath into a dedicated coffee bar and pantry. A comprehensive furnishings plan draws on the home’s history through curated vintage furniture and lighting, complemented by personal touches that weave together the general’s legacy and the clients’ own stories, from preserved artifacts to reimagined heirlooms and personal artwork.
